Disclaimers and emergency information

In an emergency

Call 911. For current warnings and instructions, follow your local emergency management, your state or territory's emergency management agency (listed on the assistance page), and National Weather Service alerts.

Not an emergency or alert service

DisasterTrack USA shows historical records of official declarations. It does not monitor events, issue warnings, or show current conditions. A recent declaration on this site does not mean danger is ongoing, and the absence of one does not mean an area is safe.

No advice

Nothing on this site is evacuation, medical, legal, financial or safety advice, and nothing on it decides whether you qualify for assistance. A programme shown as “declared” means FEMA authorised it for listed areas; only FEMA and the other administering agencies decide who is eligible.

Accuracy

Data is copied from FEMA's public dataset and may contain errors from the source, or be out of date between daily updates. Always confirm important details with the official agency linked on each page.

Independence

DisasterTrack USA is independent. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for FEMA, NOAA, USGS, SBA or any federal, state or local agency. This product uses the Federal Emergency Management Agency's OpenFEMA API, but is not endorsed by FEMA.
